Student Mobility Activities

Student mobility can be carried out in two ways:

  • Study mobility
  • Internship mobility

Grants are provided only for the following activities:

  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral studies at a higher education institution in Turkiye that holds an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), where the studies are recognized as an integral part of the student’s degree/diploma, including thesis preparation (excluding research assignments and external research studies that are not part of the study program).
  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral studies at a higher education institution in a third country not associated with the program, where the studies are recognized as an integral part of the student’s degree/diploma, including thesis preparation (excluding research assignments and external research studies that are not part of the study program).
  • Traineeships recognized as part of the student's study program by a higher education institution in Turkiye or in a third country not associated with the program.

Student Mobility for Studies

This mobility activity is conducted within the framework of existing inter-institutional agreements of higher education institutions.

    Participating students must be full-time students.

    Students are expected to complete courses equivalent to:

  • 60 ECTS credits for a full academic year,
  • 30 ECTS credits for one semester in a two-semester academic year,
  • 20 ECTS credits for one trimester in a three-trimester academic year.

    Full academic recognition is granted for successfully completed credits, while failed credits must be retaken at the host institution.

Student Mobility for Traineships

This mobility activity allows students enrolled in a higher education institution to undertake an traineeships abroad in a university, company, or other eligible workplace relevant to their field of study.

  • Attending courses at a higher education institution does not count as an internship.
  • Internships can be carried out at all levels (associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral).
  • Graduates can also carry out an internship within 12 months after graduation, but they must apply before graduation while still enrolled.
  • Already graduated students cannot apply for an internship.

Eligible Host Institutions for Internships:

Any private or public organization active in the labor market or in the fields of education, training, and youth, including:

  • Private or public enterprises, regardless of size or economic sector (including the social economy),
  • Local, regional, or national public institutions,
  • Chambers of commerce, trade unions, professional associations,
  • Research institutes,
  • Foundations,
  • Educational institutions (from preschool to high school, vocational and adult education centers),
  • Non-profit organizations, associations, NGOs,
  • Career guidance institutions, professional counseling organizations,
  • Higher education institutions in Turkey that hold an ECHE and their partner universities.

Ineligible Institutions for Internships:

  • EU institutions and bodies (List available at: EU Institutions and Bodies)
  • National Agencies and Erasmus+ Offices responsible for EU program management.
