Jean Monnet Scholarship Program

The Jean Monnet Scholarship Program, launched through an agreement between the Republic of Türkiye and the European Commission in 1989, is one of Türkiye’s most well-established and prestigious projects.

Within the scope of the program, selected scholars are granted the opportunity to conduct research or pursue postgraduate education at a university or an equivalent institution in an EU member state for a period ranging from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 12 months. The scholarships are allocated to studies related to the EU acquis within the framework of Türkiye’s EU harmonization process.

These scholarships contribute to strengthening Türkiye’s human resources in the field of the EU acquis, thereby supporting the development of the administrative capacity required for its effective implementation. Scholars enhance their expertise in their respective fields and broaden their perspectives on the functioning of the EU. Additionally, the Jean Monnet Scholarship Program fosters civil society dialogue between Türkiye and the EU, strengthens academic relations between the countries, and establishes bridges between Turkish and European professionals.
